Scenic City Summer Bucket List

It’s finally summer in the scenic city, and we’ve got the perfect seasonal bucket list for you! From swimming to date nights, we cover some of our ultimate summer activities to do during a season that seems way too short.

Summer Fun Day at Chester Frost Park with NoogaSplash (Kid Friendly)

NoogaSplash at Chester Frost is now open for the season and we can’t wait to go! NoogaSplash is a floating obstacle course on the water at Chester Frost, open to all ages with a separate spot just for the littles. Rates vary by day, length of time you want to stay on the course, and they offer group rates as well. If you’re traveling with kids or you just want to test your agility and have some fun, this is a perfect way to do so!

Lavender Picking at Flat Top Farms (Kid Friendly)

From June 4th through June 22nd, Flat Top Farms is hosting their annual Lavender Festival! Admission is $5 and you can pick a bucket of your own lavender for just $10. They will also be offering photo opportunities with highland cows and mini donkeys, fresh lemonade, lavender ice cream from Clumpies, and tons of farmmade lavender goods.

Paddleboarding/kayaking on the Tennessee River

Try something a little different for arm day this summer! Hit the Tennessee River with rented paddleboards and kayaks from L2Outside and explore Downtown Chatt’s famous waterways, featuring scenic cliffs and McClellan Island.

Explore the new Wildwood Playscape at Enterprise South Park (Kid Friendly)

New to Chattanooga, the Wildwood Playscape is a three acre play space for kids that features tons of hands-on activities and fun places to roam. Perfectly placed under the shade of the Enterprise South forest, this amazing new park in Chattanooga provides much-needed shady fun for kids that need to run, jump, and play.

Coolidge Park + Clumpies (Kid Friendly)

Is it even a Scenic City Bucket List without including Coolidge Park and Clumpies? A favorite local summer activity (minus the bridge, unfortunately), hit Coolidge Park for a walkabout, ride the carousel, play at the splashpad, and then hit the Northshore Clumpies to cool off and wind down a perfect park day.

Karaoke and Drinks at Sing it or Wing It

If you’re not entertaining littles on summer break for the night, head over to Sing It or Wing It for some delicious beverages and plentiful entertainment on the karaoke front.

Swim Suck Creek and the Best Burgers at River Drifters

Suck Creek offers plenty of pull-offs for you to jump in and cool down on these hot Southern summer days. After working up an appetite swimming and exploring, you can head over to River Drifters, where you’ll have some of the best burgers Chattanooga offers. Perfect for a long day of working up an appetite and having fun!
